As some of you may know, I had the chance to attend Sunsense’s 30th birthday event* back in September. This was my second media event that I’ve ever attended and it was pretty interesting! It took place in the Strand Arcade in Sydney, a building I’ve never really walked into before. Everything was set up so beautifully, and as you walked around the precinct, it showcased Sunsense’s campaigns and products throughout their 30 years of operation.
I remember as a child we used Sunsense sunscreen and it’s like…amazing to see that they’ve remained in operation throughout my childhood, my teens and now my adulthood (well I only turned 20 a few weeks ago so it’s a short-lived adulthood so far haha).
I study Media and I found it interesting to see their campaigns throughout the years, because I analyse many different campaigns in class and as part of assignments too.

For those who don’t know, Sunsense is an Australian brand that specialises in sun care, including sunscreen for daily wear, sports sunscreen and after sun care. You can look at all their products here, and if you’re interested in purchasing some of their products in Australia, they’re stocked at Priceline, Coles, Woolworths, Chemist Warehouse and other various retailers.
Apart from all the products, there was food and drinks provided as well. There were many different bloggers and other influencers, but I was too shy to say hello haha.
I was given a goodie bag filled with some of their best sellers, and I grabbed a few samples as well.
Bag of samples
The one thing I was really looking forward to trying was their Moisturising Face SPF 50+, because my friend once gave me a bit to try and I really liked how it felt and how it wasn’t greasy at all – I have oily skin and I hate when sunscreens make me look even oilier.
They had light refreshments available, but unfortunately I didn’t take any photos of that.
Now onto the most exciting part – the goodie bag!
I received the:
- Invisible sensitive SPF 50+ for sensitive skin
- Anti-ageing face matte SPF 50+ invisible tint finish
- Ultra SPF 50+ for the family
- Moisturising face SPF 50+ for the face and neck
- Lip balm SPF 50+ moisturising protection
- Sport SPF 50+ for the sports enthusiast
Invisible sensitive SPF 50+ for sensitive skin
I don’t have sensitive skin and passed this onto my brother because he does. The formula isn’t greasy as you can see and I find the size to be quite large. This’ll definitely last a long time and great for those with sensitive skin!
Anti-ageing face matte SPF 50+ invisible tint finish
This is their anti-ageing matte sunscreen that has an invisible tint finish. I’m not a fan of tinted products when it comes to sunscreens and stuff like that. Even though it dries invisible, I still prefer the white ones.
I passed this onto my mum because it seems more up her alley than mine haha.
Ultra SPF 50+ for the family
I passed this onto my brother and I see it as the ‘default’ sunscreen for everyone. This sunscreen has a new lighter feel and it feels more like a lotion. It absorbs into the skin easily and doesn’t leave a greasy feeling.
Moisturising face SPF 50+ for the face and neck
As I mentioned, this is the sunscreen I wanted to try! It’s super light weight, like a lotion and doesn’t leave you feeling greasy or anything. I love the blue colours on their packaging, it feels so calming.
I can’t wait to get more use out of this in the future!
Lip balm SPF 50+ moisturising protection
I didn’t know Sunsense had a lip balm so this was interesting to check out! The container is a bit hard to squeeze, and I actually kind of broke it from squeezing too hard. It feels like a cleansing balm but once you massage it on your lips, it just melts.
Sport SPF 50+ for the sports enthusiast
Lastly, this sunscreen is more suited for those who are sport enthusiasts. I think this sunscreen is the most ‘liquid’ of them all. It’s sand and sweat resistant so it’s perfect for when you go to the beach as well.
Samples I picked up
I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post and learning a bit more about some Sunsense products. I don’t get to attend a whole lot of events, so I’m grateful for all the opportunities I get.
A new post will be up next Monday as normal. Have you tried any Sunsense products before?
*I was invited to this event, any opinions expressed in this blog post is 100% honest and entirely my own. The products I received were gifted to me and I am not being paid in any way to post about these.
